Nilokheri Polytechnic



 Guru BrahmaNand Ji Govt. Polytechnic Nilokheri
  Nilokheri is a small township built for refugees from West Pakistan after partition. It is situated on the historic Grand Trunk Road (Sher Shah Suri Marg) at a distance of 145 Kms. From Delhi towards Ambala and is 120 Kms. From Chandigarh.

With the launching of Community Development Programme in country in Oct. 1952, need arose for creating training facility for a very large number of personnel to be engaged in the execution of the programme. For this purpose number of training institutions were started by the Govt. of India and State Governments. One such Training Centre was established at Nilokheri in April 1954, by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Community Development, Panchayati Raj and Co-operation. It was known as the orientation and Study Centre, Nilokheri. It had a regional character and provided training courses for Block Development and Panchayat Officers and Extension Officers of Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi State and some parts of 
Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
